This is the inaugural national Manufacturing and Design (MaD) conference. Topics will be pertinent to our New Zealand MaD researcher and industry network. Presentations will be to delegates representing all NZ tertiary education providers that work in the MaD space as well as MaD industry representatives, Crown Research Institutes, funders and government representatives. The event will showcase a complement of activities and engagements for the benefit of MaD researchers, MaD industry partners and innovators.

Speakers

Cather Simpson joined the University of Auckland in 2007. Her research spans fundamental spectroscopy to applied device development. She is a Principal Investigator two operating national Centres of Research Excellence, on the Executive Committee of one and an Associate Investigator in another.
Crispin Hales (PhD, CEng, FIMechE) has >45 year's experience in engineering design. Since 1989 he has worked in forensic engineering, investigating a wide range of mechanical failures, explosions and accidents mostly in the USA. He is actively involved in engineering design research internationally.
